Bio
Tyler is a Team Accountant at Buffalo Tax Strategies and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His background sets him apart—he spent three years working at the IRS, helping both individuals and businesses navigate compliance requirements from the inside.
That experience was transformative. He saw firsthand how hard entrepreneurs work to build their businesses, and how overwhelming the tax system can feel even when you’re trying to do everything right. It’s what led him to switch sides: he wanted to use his insider knowledge to advocate for taxpayers, not audit them.
Tyler’s approach is both strategic and personal. He’s driven by the belief that people work too hard for their income to leave money on the table or live in fear of the IRS. Whether it’s ensuring compliance obligations are handled correctly from the start or exploring every legal avenue to optimize a client’s tax position, he’s thorough and proactive. He especially enjoys working with small businesses, where he can build genuine relationships and see the real impact of smart tax planning.
Outside of work and his studies, Tyler is passionate about economics, business strategy, and yes—even tax code. When he’s not diving into accounting coursework or helping clients, you might find him playing pickleball, volunteering in his community, and traveling with his family of 5.
